Just came home from Wilderness Lodge in Everett PA. Great place, great people and lots of fun.
Ok after years of hunting PA game lands and dragging and gutting my neighbor's kills I had enough. I've just been in the wrong place at the wrong time. Ok decided to do a guided hunt and it was well worth it. First was the Elk cow and the 480 did the job about 40 yds and a double lung shot 3 steps down and out!!!
The Corsican Ram was another story. After about 4 miles of hard walking we broke for lunch. We went again and they had just gave us the slip all day long. Well found them and used the 270 this time. Too close about 70 yds first shot through the lung but it took another to finish him off. I guess the Elk spoiled me and I didn't know how tough those Rams are. I'll write up more another time.
