Kinda torn here guys. ive been to this place twice, both with my recurve. before that I went to a different place and shot one with a compound. but this year im thinking of using a short gun. the recurve is fun and challenging but I have not shot anything with two of my hunting handguns. the 29-4 SW hunter and smokeless ML striker. both will be plenty these pigs run 200-275. its one of those hunts we do every year with the same guys. its more about the time with friends than the hunt. also its more of a meat hunt than trophy hunt.
so do it again with my recurve
the 44 loaded with 25 CP WFN at 1150
or the ML with 250 XTP at 1925
what would you guys do?

The answer is obvious if you want to be a handgun hunter. The .44.
2 votes for the 44. Keep em coming.

A bow is a good choice. My desire is to take apig with a bow, as well as with a pistol. Need to get to Texas.

Dang Tyler, I'm the odd man out I guess. I want you to bloody that smokeless smokepole.

Heck take both and shoot one with each!
That is the best solution yet!
if it was in the budget I would for sure!!! there will be pictures, maybe even a video. two of the guys will be using traditional bows. ive done that like I said but i think the 44 will go this year.
To me it would be a toss up. I suspect that you want to use that smokeless muzzleloading pistol on deer for the fall season. If that is the case then use that muzzleloading pistol. It will give you real world practice for the day when a big Empire State whitetail steps in front of your stand.
Just curious. Where are you going?
Name of the place is coldbrook. Its in homer ny

I love to hunt with bow and handguns but would have to vote for the .44 on this one because I can't(legaly)hunt with a pistol up here but I can hunt archery every year.
