I am looking for a action xp100. I have a question, did Remington put this Action on a rifle ?????? ..name of it. thanks guys, this is a great site

Because of the solid bottoms, the 40X actions are essentially XP-100 actions, although the bolt handles and trigger mechanisms are different. Around these parts, before the intense interest in IHMSA shooting began in the very late '70's, a number of XP-100's were converted by benchrest shooters into rifles.

Darrell,

I hate to make assumptions (we all know why) but if you are thinking about turning a rifle action into a pistol, there are serious legal questions surrounding doing such. Hopefully you just like the XP action in a pistol, and are looking for a rifle ;^)

The most common way is to purchase an existing XP-100 as a harvest gun for conversion. But there are specialty manufacturers that can provide non-designated actions for an SP build. Hold onto your wallet for those.
