480 and 475 scope

I was thinking of haveing a Gary Reeder pirate encore barrel made in 9 inch barrel in 480 ,475 linebaugh and was wanting to know what scope you all would recommend that would hold up . Going to mainly be shooting the 480 in it but will be shooting some of the 475 stuff in it . Thanks for all info.

if your wanting a scope either a Leupold or Bushnell Elite, Leupold has the benefit of have 2X, 4X and 2.5-8X whereas Bushnell only has the 2-6X.

That gun is very capable out to 100 yards and a bit farther if the shooter is up to it. I would go with a 4x Leupold.

I agree, def like the 4x over the 2x.

if you decide on the 2X I have a good one for sale in the classifieds. The nice thing about the 2X is it has a wider field of view and quicker target aquisition, the nice thing about the 4x is obviously with the higher magnification you can pick out targets a little further out although I've used mine out to 100yds without a problem.

I'm also a fan of the 4X, but the OP lives in Georgia, and I assumed shorter ranges. The 2X is also good to 100 yds, and IMO is more versatile in close. He'll have to choose, based on the likely areas he'll hunt.
