3rd annual "Hixton Hornless Hundgun Hunt" - 12/18/2013 2:51 AM
Well, this years hunt went pretty good. All total we got 3 deer. This is the Wisconsin antlerless 4 day season. We cannot shoot antlered bucks during this time period. We were hunting near Hixton Wisconsin. This year there was 3 of us - John Y., Joe G., and myself. Joe had time off from work, so he hunted Thursday & Friday, and was suposed to hunt Sunday as well, but came down with a fever and had to leave for home Sunday morning as John & I left for the woods. John & I only hunted Sunday, & none of us hunt Saturdays because we are Sabbath keeping Christians. Joe shot a doe & a "Nub buck" Thursday. I shot a nub buck in the last minutes of the last day. I saw more deer that one Sunday than I had seen all of archery, muzzeloading & regular gun season combined. We had -25 degree wind chills when we woke up, and it didn't warm up much after that.
