First, is the powder coated bullets worth it?
Second, how fast can you push them w/o a GC?
third, would a 158gr SWC,18 brinell,be a good choice for deer in a 357?

I would suggest wandering over to http://www.singleactions.com and doing a search. Quite a few there are shooting powder coated bullets and there are a number of threads dedicated to the topic. A couple here are too, I believe. I know member Cottonstalk is shooting them (in fact I used his .44 Bisley to take a doe this year with powder coated cast bullets). I think Glenn S. is also using them.

There is a cast bullets group on Facebook with numerous people who have dedicated their lives to powder coating, they are getting some impressive speeds with no leading.

I've seen guys using them in rifles and getting great results with no leading. I have a bunch of softer 270SAA bullets that I plan to PC some of and try them at different velocities in the 454 just to see where it loses accuracy or begins to get messy. Figure I'll start about 1150 and work up just out of curiosity. I have a bunch that Dick Thompson has sent me to try but I haven't had much time to play with them yet to be honest. I have different ones loaded but have not been back to the range lately to try. I know between now and the first of the year though, I'll have time to work with them.

The guys over on that Cast Boolits forum were experimenting with them, if I remember correctly.

Again, I suggest heading the http://www.singleactions.com and doing a search. There has been much talk and testing on the subject. As Glenn mentioned, Dick Thompson, handgun hunter extraordinaire, has posted much on the topic on that site. It's worth checking out.

SHERWIN-WILLIAMS sells ZINC in a spray can.. lts an lndustrial product used to coat weld joints to prevent rusting..lt works great on cast/swaged lead bullets..Lots cheaper than powder coating.. NO LEADING either
