I deer hunt with a striker 308 pistol using 125 NBT's. Their is an off chance I could get a shot at a black bear as they are becoming more numerous here. Range would be under 100 yards. Will the 125 penetrate fully if I stay off the shoulder bones? Any tips appreciated.

I wouldn't be shy of using my 7-30 waters with a 120 BT on a black bear at that distance so I say go for it. Placement is key.

Off the shoulder bones OK. A better bullet would be 150 gr. Accubond. It opens up enough to be useful on deer, but stays together to penetrate even on shoulder shots.

I also shoot shoulders so use heavy bullets on everything. How do you like your striker,I can pick one up for $500 with break and 2X leupold as new

That's a good price. I had a Super Striker (the one with the laminated stock and no brake) in .308 for several years and liked it. It was accurate, but heavier than an XP or Encore.
