Interested in a contender barrel in this caliber. Anyone fooled with it...what kanda results did you get.

Kirk I had one years ago that I am guessing was chambered too deep. I did not get it going well enough to be any help on performance. Mine would kill the case every shot. I sent mine in to Bullberry and had it made into a 6BB Imp.

RCBS Pistol Section (Super 14 Contender)
55 Blitz will do 2700
70 HPBT will do 2500
80 Blitz will do 2350
85 HPBT will do 2300
100 will do 2200 with a couple powders

I do still have the Die Set if you need dies.

I had a SSK barrel for 10X years until it burned in a house fire. Really accurate. A pussy cat to shoot. Took several hundred ground hogs and around 20 deer with it using 70 gr. BTs and 70 gr. Horn. SXs.
If you get a barrel I still have my load data.

Thanks....i will be looking for one...or something similar. I saw those CVA SSP in 243....like 300.00 but i know nothing about their reputation...300.00 and i can have a descent 6mm TCU or similar barrel....

The 6x45(6mm/223) or 6x47(6mm/222mag) are awesome comparable cartridges. I have those also. None are for sale!

Bust a move! Order a new custom barrel. 😬

I would look closely at a 6x45. Would also consider a twist where you can spin an 85 gr bullet.
