I GOT SPANKED…..AND I LIKE IT

Monday my son was board (his PC’s been off line for a few days) so when I got home from work he asked to go shoot some clays. Now scattergun has never been my forte and Monday was proof why. We took turns with a hand thrower I have. After about 12 clays each he was up about 6 to 0. I finally stopped wasting the ammo and let him shoot about 15-20 more. He was hitting about half. He seems to have a real knack for it. I was just as happy to see him enjoying some form of shooting sport.

If you're gonna get whupped at shooting, then it's probably best if it happens from one of your own children!

Thats awesome! My wife is pregnant with our first and is due in mid June and I can't wait for times like that. Rock on.

My five year old did the same thing his first time shooting a rifle. Santa brought him a Henry Mini-Bolt .22 lr for Christmas last year.

The first day shooting we spent some time shooting targets and clays, working on sighting and shooting basics. He seemed to catch on really fast. Before we left the range, I put two squirrel targets up at 20 yards. I told him we each get one chance for at a head shot with his rifle.

Needless to say, he nailed his dead center and mine was off an inch and a half. I still say that rifle is too small for me to shoot! I really could not have been happier.

Excellent!! My wife can stomp me w/ a scatter gun! I had a Winchester 120 (20ga pump) fitted to her and the forcing cut removed...before the kids she could do nearly 100% hits. She's out of practice now but I'd guess she could still hit 75%!!

She says...."they just look like they are floating out there...I point the gun and shoot." Heck...to me they look like they are screaming across the sky at 300mph!!
