Looking for an Encore pistol barrel for coyotes, any suggestions on calibars out past 75 to 150 yards?

The 223 Rem would work good to that distance.

Never done any coyote hunting myself, but I have spoken to some coyote hunters and they prefer the .223 like Tigger suggested and some prefer the 22-250. Both excellent for coyote at those ranges. Good luck.

At that range a 35 Rem or a 375 Win would be just as effective as a 22 Hornet, 223 Rem or 22-250 Rem. Do you hand load? That would be a deciding factor to me. If you want a multi purpose round, I would recommend the 7mm 08 or the 308.

At the ranges you mention any of the cartridges mentioned would be fine. However if the range was to increase some and since you are talking Encore, my vote would go to the .243 Winchester. I have tested handloads in a 15" .243 Encore ranging in bullet weights from 55gr. Nosler Ballistic Tips to 95gr. Nosler Ballistic Tips. Most have been pleasantly accurate. The 55gr'ers were clocking 3240 FPS loaded with Varget and the 95gr'ers were clocking 2717 FPS loaded with H-4350. In the middle I have been using 80gr. Speer Hot Core Spitzers loaded with H-4895 running 2920 FPS.

If you are not going to handload, I would go with the 223. Something cheap to feed. Handloading would go with a 308 based cartridge, but that is just me and my .02 cents.

That 243 would be hellashious on coyotes.

Thanks all for the response back I just picked up an Encore Pro Hunter frame, I plan on getting either a 223 or 22-250 barrel first, along with a Burris 2x7 . As for Deer and Elk I'll probably need some feedback on a barrel for that.

I personally use the 6.8 SPC. It
is an accurate round that hits harder than the 223 and is also suitable for deer, especially with the 110 grn Barnes TSX. I use 110 grn Hornady V-max for predator hunting. T/C's, not being limited by a magazine length, you can also load 130 grn bullets.

T/C offers factor barrels. I have a 23" rifle barrel and will get a pistol barrel, too.

I love this little .277 caliber cartridge!

Can't really make a good suggestion there as I have never hunted elk. But with the Encore frame you have a huge choice of calibers that will be more than adequate for elk.

I have known people to shoot elk with a 243 and even a 22-250. Will they kill them, Yes! Would I do it with that caliber, NO!!!

I would have to ask what you feel comfortable shooting. The next thing I would ask is the range. Short range would consist of cartridges like the 45-70. Longer cartridges, well…. I would ask if you hand loaded or if you were going to use factory ammo.
