6.5 x 284 loads

6.5 x 284 loads - 04/20/2008 10:41 PM

I can't seem to keep my 6.5 under an inch and I know it's capable. My 300 WSM won't shoot over a half an inch, so I found the combo for that.

What's everyone using for powder/bullets in this puppy?

For reference: Savage Striker, custom trigger, blue printed and installed with a Shilen 16" SS match barrel w/target crown.

Basically the same setup as my 300 WSM from the same Gunsmith.

I don’t have to tell you XP knows what he is talking about. However, if for some reason that doesn’t work, I have an article from the Nov 2007 of shooting times that is 5 pages long with lots of reloading data in it. I tried looking it up on line, but the article was no longer available. If you pm me your email account I will scan and send you the article.

I have been using Lapua brass, Fed 210 M primers, H-4350 with Nosler's 120 BT. Now in the process of trying Hornady 129 SST and Nosler 130 Accubond with H-4831sc. Reloader 19 and Reloader 22 are also mentioned in Layne Simpson's article although I haven't tried any yet. Good luck.

I had 10 pages of pm’s, so I deleted all of them. It is only 7 months worth.

PS. SS 308, I will try to e-mail you that information tonight.

It has been sent. I still have the e-mail saved if anyone else would like this info. Just shoot me your e-main in a pm and I will get it out for you.

Tuba and bass trombone. Right now I am playing in the Ceremonial band/also known as the marching band, New Orleans style Brass Band, Brass Quintet, Trombone Choir, and Jazz Band. In fact, I am playing a gig this after noon for a couple of boats coming in!!

Hey, I remember those bands (USS Independence, USS Enterprise, USS Nimitz and the USS Constellation. 2 of these are already de-commissioned). Thanks! We did appreciate you when we came home, all though we might not have shown it at the time.

The big DDG came in and the large band played for it. We were just THERE. For the small boat, the Brass Band played, New Orleans style Brass Band that is. Even the officers of the boat were enjoying themselves.
