Moose hunt coming up. woohoo!

Gearing up for my moose hunt, leaving on the 31st. I loaded up some 400 grain Performance Cast bullets and some 425 Cast Performance bullets. I got my .475 Linebaugh sighted in at 100 yards. I can't wait, time is going so slow. I hope to bag a black bear aswell. Heading out for a week and a half trip.

Handgun moose hunting would be great! Where are you heading? I guess you, as an AK resident, don't need to spend the cool $15000 which seems to be the standard outfitter rate for an AK moose hunt for nonresidents...

Good luck and can't wait to see the results! Moose is one I would love to get a chance at.

Wish I could be able to use my handcannon on my moose hunt next month, but the Kanucks in Alberta won't have no part of it. Insted, I'm useing the next best thing, a Marlin 1895 Guide gun with an 18" barrel and open sights. My goal is take a 30 yard shot.

sandrew, my dad just got back two weeks ago from hunting moose/blackbear for 2 weeks just north of Homer with a lifetime hunting buddy. Unfortunately, and as I am sure you know, this was a little early as the rut has just started kicking in.

He, his buddy and his buddy's brother (lives on the Kenai) saw over 20 cows and half a dozen calves but no bulls or black bears. They did see a grizzly but did not have a tag.

In the past week, my dad's buddy's brother shot a 50 inch moose, his neighbor shot a fork horn and another one of his friends shot a 52 inch bull.
