Hard carry cases for your pistols...lets see them. - 03/28/2010 12:47 PM

Just picked up a T/C contender and I want to pick up a hard side carry case, would like to see what everyone is using.
I was thinking a pelican case.

Pelican is a good case. I have a takedown shotgun case made by Beartrax.

I use this:

http://www.outdoormarksman.com/product_info.php?cPath=5593_5748_6281&products_id=82697

It is perfect for range trips and rides to camp. Fits a 'Tender and a few barrels, two XP's or Strikers, or a half-dozen revolvers. It's not built for air carry, but it will fit in the bottom of a duffle so it goes un-noticed.

Go to Academy. Thye have a take down shotgun case for $49 that locks. Nice case and will hold 2 scoped SP's at a time.

Outside dimensions are 26"x14"x5-1/2" and you can fit two scoped Strikers and/or XP's in it, plus accessories.

I use Bear Track cases. IMHO, they are excellent --- but pricey. As far as I know, the only current source in through Freedom Arms. I started using them years ago when they were available from the company that developed them. They are an investment and will outlast me. They will also protect your "shootin iron."

I like the Pelican style cases. A few years ago one of the shops was throwing 3 of them away so I took them. All they needed was the foam and a good cleaning. I gave 2 of them to 2 buddies and kept one for myself. They work great and I've had 4 Contenders and a couple of extra barrels in mine.

Guide Gear from Sportsman's Guide, 12x24x4. Good inexpensive box.

Just for the fun of it, you should go to beartrackcases.com and watch the video. It is a hoot! The griz could not get into the case with an egg in it.

Since I travel a lot by air, I use a Storm briefcase with a custom-made interior:

It works very well. Great quality.

I use a pelican for traveling. Gonna order a new one from Freedom Arms that will hold one 10" FA that will still fit in a suitcase for traveling incognito....You can custom fit these but I don't as I don't always have the same ones with me when I travel.
