This is my oldest daughter Holly, who is 2 for 2. 2 shots---2 does. Last year with Encore 45/70 Katahdin.

Yesterday was with Contender carbine chambered for 357 mag. Bullet was homemade hardcast from wheelweights, 160 grain with gascheck. Loaded about 15 years ago. Deer went almost 25 yards.

Excellent!

My brother took a deer with a Winny M94AE .357 Mag a few weeks ago. 180gr Penn and Lil'Gun penetrated the right hind quarter, exited the front edge of the quarter, then re-entered the chest and made mush of the lungs and lodged against the far shoulder.

Hard to beat hard cast bullets for getting to the goodie box from any angle and staying on coarse and passing on through. There is a lot to be said for that.
