was sighting in my sbh hunter (45lc) today and was pleasently suprised when i looked in the spotting scope. 100yds 1x4 burris. 300 gr xtp with a healthy dose of h110 behind it. I would say she is good to go.

14cm,
I also have a SBH hunter in 45 colt, and much like yours it is one shootin machine! I was thinking of selling it in order to afford my new model 83, but couldn't part with her cause it just shoots so darn good! ... and besides, you can't have enough guns!
I had realy good luck accuraccy wise with 250 grain XTP with max dose of H110. It seems to like most loads i put through it though
good shootin,
Jeff

That's what I like to see! Great job.
14, I would have to say that your Ruger, with groups as above, is most definetly a keeper. Damm thats a good shooter...

I have an idea, from someone that doesn't have an 83......keep the 83 and just buy the Ruger. Is this skewed logic....my wife would say so, but that would be a view from an infidel.

The gun's obviously a shooter -- and so is the owner! Nice work!

great shooting, this reminds of the time my cousin and i were at a range in fort worth tx. there was a guy there who came to our bench and said he thought his ruger sbh was defective b/c it wouldn't shoot worth a damn, not at all like our guns. so my cousin takes his gun, holds off hand and center punches the x on his target at 25 yards, pure luck that his gun was sighted on with that load, he puts it down looks at him and says "it's not the gun". ever since then i always wonder about every "inaccurate" gun and believe more often than not it's an "innacurate" shooter.

Does your 45 Colt Hunter have a Bisley grip? I have one with the Bisley grip an some research indicated that there were only 273 made. It is one of my best shooting revolvers including several custom ones.

You CAN Change the Grip Frame to the Bisley Style.
ITS The 45 Hunter That Is Impossible to find !

The grip frames are not that easy to find anymore either. I heard that there were only 273 45 Colt Bisley Hunters made. I wonder how many total Hunters in 45 Colt were made?

Early Aug I Purchased a NEW 44mag Bisley Hunter.
The 45 Seems to be the Problem, Since Ruger is Making a Bisley Hunter in 44mag You Schould be Able to Get a Bisley Grip Frame.
Not Saying You Wont have to Order it and Wait for it.

I am not sure you can buy a grip frame from Ruger direct. Brownells used to have them, but they have shown them out of stock for several years. You aslo need a different hammer and trigger as well as some different scews to do the conversion.
Unless you are willing to wait like for ever the only way to do it is to buy a regular Stainless Bisley Blackhawk or Vaquero and exchange the parts. That may be 14cm's best option since he already has a 45 Hunter.
Actually that would be the cheapest option since you could the sell the other gun at a much less loss than the cost of the Bisley parts.
