I wish I was still living up there. Where are you at in Alaska? I lived in Petersburg, Ketchikan, and Homer.

Well sounds like you have a goal then.....
If I am still in this location when you come back up (I'm a LEO) and you are in my area maybe we can do some handgun hunting on the AK critters. Nice blackies where I am at. Got one this past year and so did my son.

Can always come back.
I did.....8 months in 2013/2014 in the lower 48's rat race was more than enough for me.
In Alaska you make a friend it is for life. Down there in the lower 48 maybe a day or week......

I just came back from a few weeks up there, a self-guided road trip from Anchorage, down to Homer then up to Denali. I'd be moving there in a heartbeat if I hadn't done gone off and fallen in love with a Brazilian who thinks North Carolina is too cold.

Amazing country you have there.

I was born there. Lived in Eagle River when it was a wide spot in the road. Left when I was a kid but remember it plain as day. Still miss it. My wife would die up there. She wraps up in a blanket to watch TV when its in the 80s.

I lived in South East AK for many years. Lived and worked on POW and Admiralty. Now I am over on the mainland clear at the end of the Kenai Peninsula.
Yes it truly is as close to GOD's country as earthly possible.

My daughter lives in SE AK. I've hunted and fished there for many years now. I usually stay for about a month at a time. I've met some nice folks up there and have made many friends. I'm born and raised in the desert (AZ and NM), but enjoy my time in AK every year. I just have the desert in my blood. you Alaskans have every reason to be proud of your state.
