Bullet test - 10/04/2019 5:10 PM

I tested two .41 magnum bullets this morning:hornady xtp 210 gr.-23.0 grains of h110-1630 fps, 3/4 to 1-1/2 inch accuracy @ 100 yds. -speer deep curl same load achieved a very consistent 1570-1580 fps velocity, with noticeably less recoil, accuracy was very good also with two groups under 2 inches. Both fired in F.A.model 83 10". same point of impact for both bullets +or- 1 inch?I'm very happy with either but my question is which works better on deer size game?

I have used the 210 xtp in 41mag on black bear, with lung shots always a pass through.Bears went about 20 yards and down.Lots of damage and large exit wounds.

I think either will serve you well. There have been some reports of people getting inconsistent terminal performance from the XTPs from time to time, but ultimately, they'll both work on said game.

I've had terrible luck with XTPs in .41,.44,45,.500 on deer. Minimal expansion and damage. Actually had a few in .454 C stay in a deer.
I've always had better luck with Speer bullets, especially the old 260 Mag. HP and the newer 260 gr. HP. Of the 20+ deer I've shot with them none have moved a step.
