First charlie of the year. 50yd shot with 223 encore, 3-9x riflescope. Was in a tough spot on other side of hill so had to do some crawling, missed first shot but he ran more out into the open. That little 55gr hornady soft point blew the chest apart inside-looked like a bomb went off, small exit hole. Was pretty excited as first kill with this barrel..and a rifle scope!!

THANKS TIGGER!!!!!!

Hello, I'm new to the board. Just thought I'd say howdy and also wanted to ask lamina1982 how that rifle scope is working for ya on the .223 Encore? I often wondered if one could get away with a rifle scope on a milder cartridge like the 223.
Nice friendly looking place ya'll have here. I'm glad I ran across it. I have been hunting here in Oregon since '85 and been into handguns for at least 20 of those years. I hope to learn from you guys and ya never know, ya'll may jst pick up a thing or 2 from yours truly also?

The riflescope on the .223 is a breeze-practically no recoil so get a full field of view. Its a 3-9x and even at 9 still get full view. I also have a rifle scope on my .243- i personally dont think i would go much bigger for a riflescope than the .243 but I know lots people on here do and have good results. Im reall happy with my .223 though--its a great barrel!! Watch out this place is addicting and good at spending your money.

Ya, looks like a dandy. I'm gonna try a rifle-scope myself. Been thinkin bout it since I bought my G2 a while back. My older Contenders never wore scopes but my eyes were young back then too. Just got finished loading up a hundred rounds for it and my AR getting ready for a bit of predator calling in a couple weeks. Thanks for the warm welcome gents. Catcha later!
