Looking for front and rear high visibility, daylight iron sights for my new SS. I thought I'd give them a try before going to the scope. Looking to hunt yotes at 25 to 50 yards. Mike

I used a white paint stick on my back site-you should have the outline on it,and then cleaned the excess off with tooth picks and I bought a flu. green marker/craft dept. at wally world, and used that on my front site.So far it works fine for target shooting out to 60 yards-haven't shot it any further, but the real test will be in the woods going after Mr. bushytail.

I have a William's Firesight front and a One Ragged Hole rear peep on my Bisley S-Six and really like it. I think the William's Firesight rear would be good as well, you'd have a red front, with 2 green dots on the rear IIRC.
Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

There are alot of options but each person has to find for themselves which work best, you can go with a large gold bead with the standard rear sight, or a front ramp with a colored insert, the fiber optic sights like seen above, a post or partridge style front with or without serrations. On the rear you can buy a blade with the white line on it or as was mentioned paint it yourself if yours dosn't have it. You can used the One Ragged Hole peep sight which works excellent for some but not for me or you can go to "V" type rear sight. You can even buy rear blade blanks so you can file any shape you want on it. The also make hi-vis and glow in the dark sight paints so you could make a 3 dot set up like used on personal defense guns. The best thing is to try as many types as you can first hand or just experiment. The gold bead and "V" notch I've used and is good for quick target aquisition but a ramp, post or partridge style just black with a white outline rear has always done well for me.
I won't be wronged. I won't be insulted. I won't be laid a-hand on. I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them. John Wayne-The Shootist

the gold post/rear combo is great if you've got plenty of light but for my eyes I put the red dot on/much better for me

Even in low light, "I" can see it just fine.
