Decided to load up some 125 ballistic tips for the 15" encore bbl and was seeing what the recommended OAL for the cartidge would be. Only found 3.340 max and I was just wondering if anyone on the forum has some tips for me. Thanks

"max length" listed in manuals is for magazine fed firearms. you can load any length you want, or what will fit in your chamber before contacting the lands....and as long as you have apreciable neck holding the bullet.

if not able to get within....say .015" of the lands, i like seating the base of the bullet aproximately even with the neck/shoulder junction.

Load em .015-.020 off the lands--should give you your best loads--I would guess your best loads will be 1-1.5 grains below max --working up from the lower end

My guess with the 125 it almost fall out of the case before it touches the lands

I was just wondering if anyone else was loading them so I could get a measure of OAL length since the ballistic tip have quite a short area to work with since I'm only neck sizing the brass. Thanks for all the help.

SAAMI spec OAL for 25-06 is 3.010" min - 3.250" max

Loaded up some rounds this morning to try out and going with 3.305 oal with 61.0 grains of WIn 760. I'll let you know how they work out tomorrow.
