Alright I know some of you have some knowledge on the 6.8 spc. I am getting this caliber for my wife to hunt with on the G2 platform. Give me some ideas likes and dislikes on the round, and some loads if you hav'em. As of know I am looking toward using the 110 gr. accubond, but lets hear some others ideas.
Hey man, you gonna shoot that thang or not?

Got it in ta 14" 'tender, an AR (16") and a Ruger 'Hawkeye'(16"). I shoot 90 and 100gr'ers with Benchmark. It's a good short range, 300yds and under. Lots of data floating around for loading it.
It's not the gun, but the man behind it.

Have you shot any game with it? Curious as to how the available bullets in that cal would work from shortgun.
Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

The current Lyman manual has reloading info on a 14in Contender. IMHO, after looking at the data, I would go with the 7-30 Waters with 120's.
I have a 6.8 SPC "L" in a 24in Contender, but I have not crony'ed it yet. Is this going to be a factory or custom barrel? Would you consider a 6.8(270)X30? All it would really be is a 6.8 improved with a rim.

I REALLY should state that the Lyman manual has a tendency to be anemic as well. Their max load for my 270 Win is 2500 fps and I am shooting Hornady book loads at 2850 out of my barrel. LOL

Same load in both, 90gr Sierra and xxgrs Benchmark. the two does were DRT, the hogs a bang/flop and the other went about 20 steps. I think of it as a 'rimless Herret'.
