Is it safe to load Cast Performance bullets to match Garretts ammo or do the pressure levels become unsafe? As you can tell I do not load alot of .44 mag. I am using a redhawk and want a little better performance than 240 gr semi-wadcutters.
I don't think you'll have any problem getting 1325+ fps from a 300 grain bullet. The Garrett 310's will do about 1375 out of my SBH hunter. They do seat out a little longer than the 300's and the 330's are longer yet and I don't believe they will chamber in an SBH. Based on my experience both Garrett's and the CPB's are excellet bullets.

I get 1325 with a 320gr cp using 21.5grains w296, thats on the chronograph out of my 8 3/8 629, according to one of my books that was a load built and favored by Elmer Keith
I won't be wronged. I won't be insulted. I won't be laid a-hand on. I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them. John Wayne-The Shootist
yeah, I can remember reading about Mr Keith using that 320 gr load in his 45/8" inch Ruger Super Blackhawk to kill the Antelope at 600 yards. I would like to have been there.
