Went out deer hunting last weekend. Just before dark, I hear pigs squeeling at a pond just beyond the tree line. I snuck around so I could see. There was a group of about 10 pigs stomping around in the mud. I got behind some cover and picked out the biggest one. About that time he spotted me and quickly moved into some brush. I changed my focus to what looked to be the next biggest one. By this time they are all acting nervous. When the pig stopped, I cocked the hammer and pulled the trigger. After I regained my focus from the muzzle blast, I could see the pig was hit in the spine and not going anywhere fast. I lined up my sights and tried to hit one of the other pigs while they were running away, I missed.
I shot it with my new .356GNR blackhawk. I used a 160gr WNGC at 1700fps. The shot was 55 yds taken unsupported with iron sights. I missed my mark by about 6 inches, but the pig went down and was dead before I could walk up to it for the finishing shot.
