I have seen a few articals on the N110 powder and it seems real promising. It seems a lot more stable regarding temperature changes then H110 and seems to be very accurate. I am interested in hearing from you that have had experience with VV N110 in a 460 and what your results where. I know it is a lot more expensive then H110 but I don't feel that is a factor since I am not going to go out and through 500 rounds at paper on a weekend with this gun. I shoot close to 10,000 rounds a year through my 45 & 357 between practice and IDPA matches so I get plunty of play time with lead.
This gun will be used for hunting and plan on using Barnes 275gr, Barnes buster 325gr and Hornady 300gr in it.

Ferggie, I don't know about the powder, but I know the Hornady 300gr XTP MAG is sub MOA when used with 40.5gr H110. I live in Rifle Colorado, and we have pretty big temperature changes, and cold extremes. H110, for what its worth, does pretty damn good. I think you will be hard pressed to outperform it, but I'd sure be interested in what ya find!

Thanks for responding. I have heard a lot of great info on the H110. What I had in mind was I live in NC and plan on using the 460 for hog and deer in the east and the deer and elk out west (from Wyoming) and have read that H110 can be erratic with big temp changes and thought it might be better to determine the guns sweet spot with one load that can be used in both parts of the country without adjustments.
Don't get me wrong I plan on testing H110 at different temps to see if I get the same results as others have recorded.

200 gr. Hornady FTX, and 39 gr. 2400, works pretty good up here, same bullet with 45 gr. H-110 is comparable.

Ferrgie--

I hear ya! I use a scoped single shot 460 on an encore frame with a 14" barrel from MGM. I'm wanting to test the upper limits on this caliber, so accuracy and consistency in reloading is certainly at the core of what I'm trying to do.

The H110 has performed flawlessly for me thus far, and I have a pretty wide temperature range from day to day. Our overnight lows are in the low 20's right now, and our current highs are in the mid 50's. The lowest temp I have shot in was 29 degrees though. But I've zeroed at 125, and so far, the trajectory is pretty much spot on no matter what the temps have been. When I first started testing, afternoon highs were in the 70's and 80', and I haven't changed the zero yet. At the range, I'm picking off milk jugs with ease at 175 yards, so my confidence is in the H110.

I guess I stay with H110 cause if it aint broke, I aint gonna fix it!! :-) I'm anxious to see how things go with the other powder you are considering. Keep us posted if ya try it!

Yep, that is why I said I am aware it is a lot highier but that doesn't matter in this case since I am not going to be shooting a bunch of rounds through this gun. It is for hunting only and only a few rounds (besides 25 -50 each year to verify sighting)will run thru it every year.
