Dont know why no one has not posted it already but the .480 is back. Ruger is reintroducing it in the SRH with a 7.5" barrel and also the alaskan. It will also have the 5 shot cylinder. Think I may get the alaskan.
Hey man, you gonna shoot that thang or not?

Nice, I see an Alaskan in my future! This year I hunted with a .480 and loved that round.

I wish they would go ahead and announce it then. I have been looking and actually like the target grey everyone I see for sale is about new price. I think I may just go ahead and order a new one.

It will be stainless and it is listed on certain dealers sites already. If it is supposed to be a suprise they didn't do to good of a job. It was mentioned on Rugers forum before Christmas.

For the life of me, I just can't figure out why they won't put the 5 shot cylinder in there single action frame and make it in the 480????????????
Sure like to have one in a 4 5/8 SBH or Bisley
Mister, why do you carry a 45? "Because Sam Colt don't make a 46."

Well I thought about saying nothing then I thought well it's on thier site so they must be going to show it at the Henry's show today. Was hoping lipseys would go ahead re-release the .45 SBHH but don't look like it's happening yet.

The Ruger web site list it as a 6 shot cylinder. From what I understood it would be back as a six-shot. Let me see what I can find out. Standby.

I wish they would have made it a 5-shot and sized it for both the 475 Linebaugh and 480 Ruger. I'll take a 6-shot however and happy they are making at least a few production runs. I have wanted a 7.5" 480 SRH for some time now. But I have a feeling that the first one for me will be the Alaskan since I expect they will discontinue them again. These aren't for everyone.

That is retail and yes, Ruger's aren't getting any cheaper. Will have to wait and see what availiblity is like which will affect pricing.

Also forgot to mention the Ruger 1911 is being released in the commander size platform. I don't understand that one. I would have been all over a CCO, but the full sized handle of the Commander doesn't help much in the concealability department. Maybe next year....
Rod, too.
