 BL-C2 range results

I have not been able to find H4895 powder so I bought some BL-C2 for my 375 JDJ Contender. I went to the range and had mixed results with this powder. It was accurate enough for hunting but I wanted tighter groups. I was surprised by the fire from the muzzle. I was using 50 grains of BL-C2 with 225 grain hornady SP. Is this typical for this powder?

I've played with BLC-2 in several big rifle cartridges like the 45-70, 444 and 375JDJ and I didn't like it at all. I shoot IMR and Hodgdon 4895 and IMR 3031 in all my non magnum rifle loads except the 270 which I use IMR 4350 for.

Look at AA2520 for your .375 JDJ.

Varget for the 375 JDJ. Very good powder for the 375 JDJ.

There are a lot of cartridges I've seen it listed for but I haven't found one I like it in yet.

I use,and like it in a 308 and a 30-06 and have no issues. Easily produces .5" groups at 300 yards for me.
