I have a S&W model 28-2, and like to know if anyone can help me out with it's age. Serial # is N1108XX.

When i get the big computer going later today, I have a website bookmarked that will tell me the date of manufacture.

Northeast shooters.com lists it as 1973-74. S&w sucks at records. Top secret information. The -2 puts a mod after 1961.
Google how to identify/date a s&w and northeast shooters should come up. Some guy named pilgrim did a nice job of entering a lot of data.

It's birth date is going to be post 1969 as it's an N prefix serial. Previously it would have had an S prefix.

I'd hazard a guess as to Fall of 1973.

A letter request to Roy Jinks, S&W's Historian ($50 and a few months wait) should give you a more accurate date.
