For about the past month the Ruger website, http://www.ruger.com , has no clue of the Redhawk revolver existence. Anyone have any some information on this ?

I noticed that too. I think it's been discontinued.

It is not discontinued. It is on "vacation" while Ruger gets caught up with other production.

It just seems that if your not having a production run anytime soon; it would still be good to advertise it on the website.

I thought most guns these days were not readily available ;^) I guess there is a distinction between making some quantity and whether or not any one poor soul can find an example of that quantity without having to resort to Gunbroker............

Craig All the black guns in every variety you could want are available at every store from FredMyer & Wal-Mart to the gun shops here. Ruger handguns... MUCH harder to find!

They're just ridin' the wave.
Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

Vance,
Oh I know. I am good in my black rifle pile, but my dink of a LGS actually has had some problems even getting the black ones. About the only Rugers that he can occasionaly get are the little self-defense ones. I am sure whenever I start the conversation with "I am wondering if you can find a ...." he probably wishes I would leave as he knows what is about to happen.

It sort of sucks not being able to find the firearms we want but the bright side is that all of those guns being produced today are going somewhere, and many of those somewheres are first time owners. I don't want to turn this into a political thread but I have everything I need right now, maybe not everything I want but certainly everything I need. I can afford to wait for the next production run of revolvers if it means that thousands of new shooters get introduced to our sport.
The larger our numbers are, the better we all will fair in the long haul.

There are lots of the big hand cannons around here in Idaho and Utah. Expensive? Yes, but available. They only run the "specials" on the plastic guns.

The Super Redhawk .480 has been unavailable for 10 months but they haven't stopped showing that one. Seems like some inconsistencies at Ruger these days.

owning my own small business, I find it hard to fault any business's for any decisions these last 7 or 8 years. Back in 2007 when the recession hit, they were all forced to consider recreational dollars may be drying up. Then 2008, the possibility of 4 years of constant gun legislation and the resultant market response. Then 2012, four more years.
Capital expenitures are the toughest business calls. I'd be willing to bet the production of a lot of these guns in the future may be subject to revisions of what they are saying and publishing even today. We do not have to be "politcal" to acknowledge that politics are driving this madness.

In 2007, Ruger cut the Redhawk and Super Redhawk back to production of the 44 Magnum only. In 2008, Ruger came back with the 4.25 inch barreled 45 Colt in the Redhawk.
In 2007, the Ruger Redhawk was cut back but not eliminated.

And I just got one of those 4" Redhawks in .45 Colt. Pictures will be up when I get it. But, it wasn't cheap. I have been wanting one and could hold out no longer. Wonder if they will ever bring back the Super Blackhawk Hunter in 45 Colt.

I wrote them a couple of days ago asking about the super redhawk .480 that I have been waiting for since they brought it back last Febuary and today I got their response saying it has been discontinued for the time being. I know they will bring it back. I'm just glad I don't put money on one 10 months ago.

I was actually on a call this weekend and was told they are not quite shipping yet but they have them queued up. And the good news is that there is a 480 in the mix.
