That's some impressive shooting! Now do 20 pushups and a 50 yard dash before shooting to simulate the adrenaline spike from a bear charge.
Here is a link to the video. Who's the guy at 1:50?

Sort of on the same topic, here is a video of Lynn Thompson using a SRH in .454 Casull to kill a charging buffalo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKI1xmtf5Ck

Gee, I wonder.....
That said, we had a lot of discussion on the topic and everyone is aware that in a charge situation, one would more than likely only get one shot. That said, rattling off five well aimed shots of full-tilt .454 in under three seconds isn't the easiest task. I will say this, though, Bryce Towsley can shoot.

Nope! Don't want to shoot it fast, slow, or anywhere in between! Good shooting Whit - and yes, Bryce made that look easy...

that's not easily done! lol what load were you guys shooting?
when you watch a video like that, it is easy to see just how "snappy" the 454's recoil is

We shot Federal 300 grain Swift A-Frame loads when we filmed that segment. Yeah, we were fighting muzzle flip the entire time.

BRAVO!!! Loved that segment. That was well produced! Bravo to Bryce too! Loved how he did it with a handheld timer in the non-controlled conditions too!!! Awesome!!!
My only criticism is "What's with the Dress Shirts & Ties?!?!?" This wasn't supposed to be a test of "How to Stop a Charging Buffalo Who Got Loose In The Office!!!" Jeez guys! Come on!
Good job!

Man, that is something! The guys all had good times, but Towsley's group was truly impressive.
If it were supposed to be easy, they'd have sent my little sister to do it.

That is because it was a work day. We too were using a handheld timer. You should see how fast I can shoot when I'm wearing my Carhartts.

Cool vid. I liked it. Its gotta be hard to fight those hard earned techniques that allow accuracy at 100 yards to use bad technique to throw alot of lead close. The trick i think is being able To go back and forth when needed

I would love to see this same challenge with a double action, just to see if the hits on target and times get any faster.

cool! I don't know if I could get the hang of cocking with my left thumb lol I have never even thought of doing tis but for the big boomers it certainly makes a lot of sense for a fast recovery shot.

When you cock with the thumb of your shooting hand, you compromise your grip. This way, your grip never changes and you can squeeze off the shot with no delay.

Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.
