Have noticed in the last 40 or so rounds from my 460 Smith some discolor in the case. I have swabbed the cylinder to get any excess oil out prior to firing. Accuracy is still good. Any comments?
If your gonna run with the big dogs you gotta get off the porch.

What kind of discoloration? Got a pic?
Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

If its just smoking the case up that's normal and can be removed with a tumbler before you reload. They shoot just as good dirty.just don't look as pretty.

Tumbler cleaned it up but took a while. And these are factory rounds.

Is this happening with light loads? If so it could be that the loads are light enough not to expand the brass enough to seal the cylinder and hence get a bit of blow back between the case and cylinder. No big deal.

I would not worry about the discoloration. I would be worried if the cases were splitting........

That discoloration will not hurt anything and is most likely due to residual oil or solvent left in the cylinder.
It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.
