deer opened in mn this week been real hard hunting(to nice)tue am about 9am i came walking up a small draw with a 10 foot deep washout in the bottom.i had been faitly hearing sounds coming out of the washout so i went to go take a look and see what was going on in there, when i stuck my head over the edge 4 yotes took of in 4 directions i pulled up the encore on the yote heading to my left through the trees and pulled the trigger-BOOM --splat i reloaded and spun to my right and found the yote that was heading away from me BOOM and i saw the yote roll, reloaded again turned farther to my right and saw that yote was almost to the crest looking backdown the hill,he stopped for a second-BOOM--splat reloaded again looking for the last yote but he had made his excape..after i took a few second to catch my wind i looked around to see two dead yotes and one very educated and lucky yote.first yote was 82 yards through the woods hit him behind the last rib to exit out the chest, yote two was a high miss at 68yards(found fur but no blood) ,yote three was 95 yards slight up hill bullet went in just behind front shoulder exited in front of off side shoulder.shooting a encore 243 15" with : 87gr hornaday sp doing 2450fps ...now if i can only see a deer to shoot at ,i know the gun works now i need the deer to help me. deer hunting is over, took a 4 point and a doe sat am the good news is that 2 more yotes paid the price for running out into a open field ...fri night i jumped a pair as i walked over a small dam in a picked corn field, yote 1 took 1 round from the 243 at 80yrds and went down yote 2 made to 170 yards when i missed that shot but it had a stupid attack at 211yards when it stopped to look for its friend

You sound like the modern day Lucas McCane(rifleman TV show) with an Encore.

Rick, you expect the deer to come running to you and not away with you shooting every thing in site. LOL
Bolt head is in shop for 7 mag striker. make sure he gets it done before they move the mill to the new location!

Nice shooting Deadeye. Where I was deer hunting in WI you can't shoot coyotes because they are afraid you will shoot a wolf by mistake.
I've called in two wolfs so far while coyote hunting the area and couldn't even get a pic, they don't stick around long.
