Living vicariously thru my buddy: he scored with his 460 using HSM 454 Bear Loads. Same gun I posted previously with scope issue being max'ed out for elevation. He plans to get the rings with inserts after the season is over to allow 460 loads to be used. The shot was approximately 80 yards and a little back but still got both lungs. Slight quarter to and the S&W PC 460 XVR using a short bi-pod delivered. Doe went about 50 yards. I was extremely excited for him and am now sure he is hooked - i told him he might as well sell his rifles! Picture when I can get it uploaded.
First Handgun Deer: ~1982 8" S&W .38Spl SW 7.5" 686-7 with Matchdot II SBHH .45LC 7.5" Contender G2 .35-30/30 (Bellm), .22LR, .22 Hornet, 25-35 Glock 40 10mm; G21 Poly80 w/ 9 inch barrel (in work)

It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

Congratulations! I took my MGM 460 Encore pistol twice and didn't get to connect with anything. I'm going to try for a hog until next deer season. Sent you a pm about posting photo.

Thanks in advance to Hawkeye for posting picture. Not the best pic, I guess I took most on his phone. You can see the big wide Burris Tactical rings that will get replaced by the ones with inserts. Also he mounted a short bipod I had laying around. He mounted it backwards so when folded the legs point toward the cylinder - unconventional but it works and is more compact when folded. He was using a large bandolier holster but went back to the carry case with the bipod. You can see the entry hole; exit was about the same size due to the hardcast WFN .454 HSM bullet. Slight quarter to so he got both lungs although a little back. Good enough.
