Hey Guys, I just purchased a nice blued Dan Wesson 44 Mag with 8" barrel (4" too) to use for Hog hunting. I have a Bushnell HoloField II red dot scope for on it. It requires a weaver style mount. I can only find two. One is a B-Square clamp on mount and one is a Weigland "Drill and Tap" kind of mount. Both are made of Aluminum. Is this strong enough for Heavy 44 loads like the .310 Garrett Hammerhead? If not, what other options are there?

choose whichever mount you like best; yes, aluminum mounts should hold up just fine to any 44 loads out there. welcome to the forum.

I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a handgun today.

Thanks for the info guys. I ordered the weigand mount last night. Only thing I am missing is a bandolier (or cross draw) holster for a scoped 8" barrel. Hog hunting here I come!!!!!
