Hi,Anybody out there tried a halo sight on a 500.

Yep! I had a Bushnell Holosight on my short barrel 500, the gun ate it up after about 100 shots. I sent the sight back and they repaired it. They said that the sight should hold up to the recoil. It didn't the first time so I decided not to give it a second chance.

I finally traded in the short barrel 500 along with the Holosight for a 460 S&W. I really doubt that the Holosight would have held up to the recoil of the short Smith .

I have an 8 3/8 500 and have not decided which way I want to go optics wise.Thanks for your help

with my 500 the two scopes I've had the best luck with are the 2x leupold and now the 2.5-8x leupold

Thats the way I'm leaning towards,I want to hunt out to a 150 to 200 yds and these eyes ant what the use to be
