Just acquired a 14" SS Contender barrel with rib in .45LC/410. Question: Can I shoot 3" 410 shells or just 2.5"? It doesn't say on the barrel. Will be shooting marsh hens with it come September! Thanks

I shoot nothin' but 3"ers in mine. Patterns good with #6's from Federal out to 'bout 20 yards, then gets pretty scattered. You should pattern it at 10, 15, 20, etc to see what you get, and where you need to hold.

Thanks, s4s4u. Also, does TC make only one choke tube for this, and what choke is it supposed to be, F, M, IC? I realize I'll have to pattern it and see what it's doing, but just curious because I haven't been able to find info on TC's web site or catalog.

They only have one choke. They call it a 'full' choke, and I'll say it is a fair description, maybe a bit towards full-mod. At 15 yards my 10"er turns the big shoot-n-c bull near full green, about a 12" pattern with few gaps. You'll be pleasantly surprised by how well they shoot. Mine has adjustable sights so I got it dialed in with .45 colt and the .410 backed it up. I've seen somewhere, fiber optic sights that fit the vent rib, if it won't shoot where you want it to.
