The 7mm IMHSA XP I bought Saturday has a Leupold quick release 2 piece remington 700 base on it and the rear base is only held by one screw......while it probably works just fine.....I can't live with it (I'll be using it on a 700 rifle when I find a replacement for the XP). As an added reason to change it, my short arms don't allow me to hold the pistol far enough away to get a complete sight picture in the Leupold 2.5X8......My XP in 223 has an extended base that allows the scope to be positioned farther forward.....I looked through my Midsouth catalog and don't see the extended base listed.....anyone know if they are still made??? The one I have uses the twist in front ring and is windage adjustable at the rear.......

If I can't find an extended base, what is the next best thing??? What are you using on your XP??

I may end up selling the Leupold and buying a Burris if I can't get it mounted far enough forward to get a complete sight picture!

Mark, three of my XP's have the Redfield base with the extended rings forward, that twist in. The rings are Redfield, Extension rings, 1" Std Rear, w/Extended Front. they are about 45.00 or so a set w/some shipping. I got them from Brownells.
Park # 750-522-650, matte blue, high.
Redfield is the only ones I know that make them now.

TPS makes an extended picatinny base. I think Near does also.

The Burris XP-100 base allows a more forward mounting of the scope than the Leupold base.

Check out the bases on EGW's website. They make a nice base for the Remington as well as other handgun goodies!

I think I have one or possibly two of the Burris mounts/rings if you are interested.
If anything I may be missing the scews for the base (have them for the rings. I must have forgot to tape them to the base.
I just need to check if you are interested.

Just one right now.......I think the Burris scope I have for the 6 IMP XP will work with the standard base/rings.....

Are the bases gloss ot matte finish??

Don't have any matte Burris Signature rings to go with it do you??? I have standard rings, but am trying to switch over to Signature rings when I can.

Send me a PM and let me know how much you want for the base.

This week has been crazy, so I know I have at least one base-unsure if gloss or matte. I will try to get an answer back to you today or tommorrow. Fri-Sun will be very busy for me. No matter what I will hold it for you, then you can decide whther you want it or not after I get you all the info.
