Hello. Where did you buy it and how do you like it? What do they go for? Thinking about putting one on a 629 classic.

Answers: #1 http://www.sskindustries.com #2 THE BEST #3 Revolvers $112 #4 Available for 629. Price sounds high but just pay it and forget about the mount,if you tighten the ring screws really good you'll never have a problem.

The T'SOB is the best for heavy recoiling guns. Period. Worth every penny. Contact SSK.

I think they are unnecessary, FTMP. My biggest hammer is a 45/70 T/C and it has a standard Weaver base and two Leupold Rifleman rings and does fine. I would add one more ring for the cool factor but no room on the scope tube. On a Smith .44 mag you don't need T'SOB. Weigand base and two Sigs would do fine. But then that's JMNSHO, Rod.
Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

Tough son-of-a-bitch scopes mount`s are the best I`ve ever used on any of my heavy recoiling "revolver`s".I also had one installed on my S&W 41 mag Hunter because the 6 slots (for the bottom ring screw`s) allow me more room to balance the scope and a little more lee-way on eye relief. After having a scope tube come apart at the turrent, I now use 4 Weigand mag rings which have to be one of the best available. Sincerly, James PS...worth every penny

I think the peace of mind a 6-screw base gives you, makes them worth the money. I have a three ring TSOB on my Super Blackhawk and an E.A. Brown base with four rings on my .45-70. Its probably overkill, but I would rather have too much than not enough.

Got mine through Mag-Na-Port but I only live a few mile from them. Got one on my model 29 and on one 454 casull. No question it is the best mount for hard kicking revolvers. Overkill is okay when it comes to tighten it and forget about it. If you have a trusted smithy have them order it from SSK and then install it. SSK and Mag-Na-Port will install them on your gun. I think it helps the scope live longer as well.

Either the JD Jones, or Jack Weigand mounting systems are more than adequate for a 629. I have the Weigand on my 629-DX with four Weigand rings, and it has withstood thousands of rounds and many miles of rough travel without moving. With the heavier calibers, the big advantage with the TSOB is the added base screws. At one time, SSK would mount the TSOB for free (including the added screw holes) if you bought the mount from them, and sent in your frame for installation. Not sure if they still do this.
