I went to do a little listening /scouting/ pig hunting this AM. While I was getting stuff outta the truck a big black hog stepped out in the road, saw me and scooted off into the bushes. About 6 piglets followed. As I was easing down the road I was listening to a turkey gobble, thinking "Weve got a date in about 10 days big boy." I approacked a logging deck where Ive had a feeder and I could hear pigs. I eased up to the corner and through the vines and bushes I could make out 6 hogs rooting up the place. 5 medium sized black ones and a bigger grey and black spotted hog. I wanted the big spotted one, but the only one that was giving me any kind of shot was the closest black pig about a 125 lber. I dropped to one knee for a clear shot and he saw me move, so I put a .41 250gr CPB bullet between his blinkers. DRT. At the shot the other 5 broke camp, FAST. The big spotted hog headed right for me and seeing me at the last second squeeled like he was dying and wheeled to his left hauling arse down the road. I sent a parting shot his way sending up a spray of water and mud just beside him. He squeeled bloody murder again and jumped into the canal ditch scrambled out on the other side and was gone. It was a very productive scouting trip.

Sounds like you had a fun scouting trip and a little something for the freezer as well. Thumbs up!
