Thats a nice story Lewey but you know you should never pull the trigger out of anger. Self defense... yes. Food on the table... yes. Sporting... yes. But NOT anger. I must admit though that I shot one with a bow on a deer hunt for the same reason... he wouldn't shut up and pissed me off. Shame on me!!

He,he...thats funny. I have two stories envolving those little creeps. The first was a good family friend that me and dad hunted with for years. He lost his cool and unloaded on about half a dozen of them with a Rem 7400 30-06. There were bodies every where. The second envolves me,myself and i. I work midnight to 8 am. I was sleeping on my couch when a qrey squirrel decided i had enough sleep. He was hanging upside down barking at me through the window screen. I opened it and over the next 30 minutes. Threw shoes, shirt and pants at him. what ever was in arms reach to run him off. It didn't take. I had a Blackhawk in 45 ACP under the couch(i was single with no kids)I stuck it out the window and let fly with a 230gr HP. For all i know he IS, still embedded in the tree. No i do not feel remorse.

Squirrels are known to put peaople in a trance! Please don't stare him down as you are on his turf. They have a call to lure other squirrels in and mass attack their victims. It's not pretty at all!

LCL, beware...that squirrel has got it out for you. Watch your back from now on. Next time you hunt there you will be warned with another bark from him and he will contiue as he is getting all the gang together. Man its a good thing you got a red dot on the Desert Eagle. Your gonna need to do some very fast shootn!

pter1020k, strawberry glazed squirrel is sounding like a gourmet dinner at your house. Maybe you could invite the neighbors over and see if they can name the mystery meat!

Some people carry a .22 pistol with them when they are deer hunting just to shoot squirles with, I'm scared of running off any nearby deer.............But I have been tempted, it like they are yelling to the deer that I'm in the tree with a gun and as much noise as they are making he's propably telling them my location, caliber, camo pattern and everything else.

I had one that kept it up until I sent a round from my old .303 Enfield at 10 yards. Killed him, Gutted him, Skinned him, and quartered him all at once. Do I feel bad, no not at all. It was either him or me and beings that he forgot to bring a gun to a gun fight, he lost.

Last year I was hunting with my crossbow. I had a very nice corn pile out and this squirrel was barking t me all day then he decided to make a meal of my corn pile.
I had enough of this little critter so I removed my B.H. tipped arrow and placed a field pointed arrow in it. The corn was some 35 yards out so it was doable. i aimed and squeezed the trigger. The arrow hit with a hard thud! the arrow struck the squirrel dead center. that tough little critter took off running with my arrow still sticking out of him. I never did find him or my arrow. After that i stopped caring field points I now just have B.h. so I will not have a repeat.

yep, I ka-bobbed a few of them back when I hunted with my recurve, the big Bear broadheads I used worked very well at silencing the demons.

Throw a small game adapter behind a field point and it will anchor the next one. Judo points also work well.

Since I live in the Texas Panhandle, I don't see too many squirrels, which seems to be a good thing. I can already tell just one of them would get my blood pressure up!
Lol, nope, my personal nemesis's are the noisy little prairie dogs playing sentry when I try to work around their towns after an antelope.
Couple years ago, I'm sad to admit, I lost my temper and put a 30-06 right through the middle of one little sucker.
Whew! What a mess!
But never again did that particular 'dog sound the alert!
HEH, HEH, HEH!
