Hey guys, I know this is a handgun sight, But I know from what I read how many of you hate the 44 "right". We where shooting a Marlin 44 yesterday. I have a old 44 auto that shoots great.Wondering what the deer field shoots like and what ammo,distance, all the good stuff about the gun.Thanks

Gene, I don't have any experiecne with the Deerfield. I had a bolt action all weather 77/44 that shot great, wish I still had it! At the time I was shootn 240 gr. JSP winchester. I have killed deer a little over 100 yards. I have a terrible habit of always sneakn in closer!! I did know some friends that had the deerfield and swore by them!

Jeremy, Thanks for the info.I was just wondering, because I think the new ruger has less metal in them than the older ones.I had a bolt few years ago and had the same results.Wishing i had it back.
