I have a 7-08 ProHunter pistol that I need to work up loads on rather fast as hunting season nears. I have H4350 and Varget with 120 grain Nosler B-Tips and 139 grain SST's. I will use it for deer hunting. I have been breaking in the barrel with Rem. coreloks and Fed. Fusion with decent accuracy, but I think my headspace needs adjusting with my reloads. I have a body die and Lee collet dies. Can you give me a range of sweet spots for your your 7-08 encores? Would you just use the collet die or resize the brass some? Thanks for your help!

i don't use it but one book says 4350 in a xp100 starts at 42.8
and tops at 47.5 which is a compressed load. i have been using
reloader15 in my encore 42grs with 120 bt and the gun likes it
very much i have used varget in other guns and i like it but have no data for the encore, hope this helps.
the second part of that would be i full lenght resize mine, you
can neck size if you shoot them in the same gun.

H-4895 with either 120's or 140's was my sweet load.
40 grains of H-4895 with 140 NBT's=deadly on prairie dogs, antelope & mule deer.

I shoot 120 sierra's with 43 grains of IMR 4895. They shoot great.

I use Lee collet dies only. I suggest you do the same. Mine shoot much better after being fire formed, neck sized and reloaded again.

xphunter suggested i try H4895 in my 15" 7-08 factory encore way back when. very little load work needed....it shoots fantastic and would rival a custom.
my load is similar and only differs .5gr with 120's.

41.5gr of H4895 with 120gr nosler balistic tip. i chronied 2800 fps for 5 shots at .010" off the lands. i'm bettin you could be in a load quick for deer season. just do a quick work up in your barrel.

Sounds like I need to add Reloader 15 and 4895 to my reloading bench.

I like H4895 and the 140 Nolser BT as well as the old 139 Hornady BTSP

If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

I have had good luck with RL 15 and a 139 SPBT or SST and IMR 4064 and a 162 SPBT.
