Got my Charger about a month ago and i mounted this optic on top-- http://www.rapidreticle.com/22lr3-9x32.htm in Burris Signature rings.

Went to the range on a couple calm days, and tried some Rem. Thunderbolt ammo, and the bullets were keyholing the 100 yd. tgt. Kind of spooked me a bit so i went to the Stingers and shot 2 2" gps. at 100 yds.--better! I was getting 1450 fps avg. with 65 fps ES--not bad. I ran the calcs over Exbal and it gave the holdover for 200 yds. with the reticle (needed to use the 185 yd. mark for that range). There's a 12" steel gong at that range and i shot a couple 3-shot groups at 4 and 6". I was delighted about that.

Went hunting twice with it now and got a prairie dog at 135 yds. on the 1st shot and a jackrabbit at 105 yds.

Went out with buddy Mitch couple days ago and we got 2 jacks, 1 at 100 yds. and the other at 40. All these kills have been 1-shot so far.

Got to the range yesterday with it once more as i wanted to try the Quik-Shok and Velocitors. The Q-S shot into the same group as the Stingers, and held the same zero to 200 yds. again. Q-S seems to group a bit better than the Stingers too.

The Velocitors didn't fair quite as well, as the action and magazine was smoking when i fired it, and i got 3" gps. @ 100. No problem as i'll stick to the Q-S. Velocitors gave about 1225 fps. avg. Seems like i'm getting an avg. of about 200 fps less than advertised.

Trigger wasn't bad but i had my gunsmith install a Power Custom, and that seems to have helped some.

I installed a sling swivel stud in the bottom of the pistol grip, and use a tall Harris swiveling bipod while hunting with sling.

There r some rumors that Ruger will be coming out with a plastic stock for it, which will make it lighter still-- about 5-6 lbs. now with sling/bipod.

Good to hear about the Charger. I liked the price of it and sounds pretty reliable and accurate. Thanks Steve!

Good sounding reports...I just bought my 11 year old son one today for Christmas. He has been wanting a double action revolver but, I thought the Charger would be the better choice for now...KRal

Good report Steve!

Now I wish Ruger would put the 77/22 on the same platform so we could own them in NY.

Took my Charger tree rat hunting last weekend. Definitely the finest shooting auto I have ever owned. Dropped a coyote at 68 yards-- neck shot.

For you Charger owners , I highly recommend the Steel Lips banana clip. Doesn't get in the way of the bipod and increases the opportunities for bad shots like me!

I looked at a charger at a gunshop. I went there to get 44mag ammo for deerhunting and I saw the charger. They had a price tag on it 325.00 for the gun with a scope, bipod, and soft case. It sounded like a good price to me. Sounds like alot of fun for tree chicken huntin and pilinkin.
