Whats up guys? So here's the big question. Im new into the handgun hunting world and i recently bought an encore in .243 win. Im satisfied with that for deer but i have an upcoming boar hunt and a bear hunt on the horizon and feel tempted to pick up another barrel. I handle to .243 well and i've shot it in 45/70 and didnt get shy. I was thinking of getting something along the lines od a .375 jdj but im not sure where to get one. everyone i ask has no clue. A finger in the right direction could help. Thank's boys.
Thompson Center makes a .375 JDJ and the barrel can be ordered from Midway, among other distributors. SSK, the originator of the cartridge, also supplies custom barrels. The .375 JDJ is a good choice for truly big game.
Loaded with the Hornady 220 FP, it is awesome on deer. Loaded with the 300 FMJRN quite adequate for anything up to and including elephant. I've shot game out past 200 yards with my barrel (14" SSK Custom)
