The factory trigger pull on my Encore is 2 1/2 lbs. Do I dare to go get me a trigger job and go lighter?

What do you think ?

2 1/2# is a good pull weight for hunting. You could go a little lighter but on a hunting gun I don't see the need. If you get the trigger too light you might have troubles with push off and an unsafe gun.

The SS frame that I have for my BEE was brand new and was 9 1/2# from factory!! I could not belive it when I first tried it. Thought I had ahold of the spur to break it open instead of the trigger. I got the tools from Bellm and a spring kit and did a trigger job on it following his tutorial. Now it's 2 1/2# and very crisp according to my trigger pull gauge. It passed all the saftey checks.

I agree with tig, that's a good pull weight, I set mine to about 2lbs on my contenders and revolvers and sometimes that seems border line especially in a heated situation where your excited and if you wear gloves it's even worse.

Leave it alone. That is unless you are going to do nothing but shoot paper from the bench. Anything less than 2# is simply unsafe in the hunting woods, IMHO, and the difference between 2-1/2 and 2 is negligible when squeezing on game.

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

X2

It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.
