I have the 139 grain Hornady SST interbond, Barnes 120 grain TSX tipped bullet and the Nosler 120 grain ballistic tip. I am just starting to reload for this gun (a 7-08 15" Encore)and time is short before deer season. I have a back up plan as this gun shoots the Federal Fusion 140's very well. I want to build my deer load and I might as well start working up loads with the prefered bullet first. Which bullet would you prefer if accuracy was good for deer hunting out to say 300 yards? I have Reloader 15, Varget and H4350 to use for powder. Any thoughts, preferences or tips?

120 NBT with H-4895 was my old load.
Used the 140 NBT more though.

I would have to agree with Ernie. The 120 NBT is a good bullet and typicaly very accurate. I shot the Hornady 120's with Varget in my Striker and they would zip through a coyote at 200+ yards. The 140 will send more energy down range and have a little more whop when it gets there though. I would mess with the 120 and some varget, H4895 and the RL15. I'm sure one of them will work for you.

Both the 120 BT and TSXs have worked really well for me in a 20" Rem Mod7 rifle. My son and I have taken MANY deer with these w/o issues.

Which ever bullet and powder combo is the most accurate! LOL My group has been with 42gr of RL 15 and a 139 SpBt out of both my 24in rifle and 12in pistol.
