We all know that Ernie is an excellent shooter with his specialty handguns. But the first full day of our hunt together I think I may have impressed him.

We were scouting antelope on the ranch and spotted a "critter" in the grass about 230yds ahead. I said "coyote", Ernie said "porky" then he yelled "BADGER!!!" Before we could get into position it got out of sight over a rise. We quickly made tracks in its direction. When we crested the small rise, the critter was moving out quickly. I raised the XP-100, aimed through the Nightforce NXS set on 3.5X and center punched the badger on a dead left to right run at 40yds!

He had a look of total shock on his face...so I think I impressed him!!

I must add that today he made a shot that impressed me...he can expand on that!

I'm still in WY but when I get back to PA I'll do a complete summar of the trip.

I was extremely impressed with Dan's off-hand shooting skills on a running critter (quite small too) with a center-grip XP that had a rifle-scope mounted on it.

Good shot. Seeing lots of badgers here (5 so far and 3 coyotes)...posting from Wright Wyoming on the 23rd Annual HHI Antelope Hunt...but they are not on the menu (per ranch policy) so we photograph them only.

Great 'snap shooting'.

Congrats!

Yepper...us PA'ers "cling to our guns'n'religion" as one political hack stated. And I'm proud so say that we practice both diligently!!

I'm just glad to have had Ernie as a witness.
