So I joined this forum a while ago, but havent really been on much seeing as I hadnt gotten my hunting pistol yet. Well, I picked her up today! TC Encore in 260 Rem. Its in extremely good shape, and I cant wait to get it sighted in and knock a deer or two down with it!

Sweet, and in a sweet chambering. The 260 is a great all-around for deer to 'yotes. Recoil is easy. What is for glass?

Rod, too.

Congrats! Now the fun starts, getting more barrels. I too want to know what kind of scope you have on it. Good luck on your hunting.

Thanks guys! Its a NC Star scope, which I believe is Tasco. Its fine for now, Ill probably pick up a Bushnell Firefly scope for it for next season. Im not sure what other barrels Ill get, I guess I will figure that out in years to come.

NCStar is their own brand. Tasco hasn't made handgun scopes for years, and if you find one of the older Tasco 1.25-4's grab it up. They are a darn good value.

The NCStars get mixed reviews, let us know how your's works out.

Congrat's on the new arrival ;-)

Oh OK, I read somewhere that NCStar was owned by Tasco. Ill let you know how it does, I just need it to last for a month lol. I would really like to get a larger scope, this one is a 2-7x32 and Ideally Id like to get a 3-10x40, something along the lines of the Bushnell Elite 3200. I have always been a fan of Bushnell scopes, they take a beating very well, been shooting one on my slug gun for years.

More X's are nice for long shootin', but with a handgun scope the only one that goes over 8x is the 3-12 Burris and eye position is real critical on that one in the upper X's. I like compact variables that fall somewhere within the 1.25x to 8x range for most hunting. On a couple that shoot long range a lot I have rifle scopes now, and a good brake ;-)

The 2x7 Burris is a great scope. I am new to the handgun hunting scene but quickly becoming a HUGE FAN! Just took my first deer with mine about two hours ago. 15" 243 topped with the 2x7 Burris. She was ranged at 212 and on x7 it made for an easy shot.

Congrats on first blood! The 2-7 Burris is a fine optic.
