I am wondering what the opinions are regarding a good 260 round for deer. The guy I bought my TC off of gave me about half a box of Remington 120gr rounds for it. My friend that shoots this exact gun shoots 140gr hand loads. Will the 120s be good or should I be shooting 140s? I see that the Federals use the Barnes bullets. Are they worth the extra few bucks per box?

I think either of the rounds you've mentioned, will work fine for whitetails.

It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

I shoot mostly 120's for deer, antelope and pigs with my .260 XP100. I shot 120's in my 15" Encore barrel also. I have used the Remington core lok 120grn factory bullets and Federal in mine. I now reload for it and use the 120grn Ballistic Tips for deer and 120grn Pro Hunter for plinking.

I shoot 120's in my 7's with great results so they should be plenty heavy for your 6.5 and you'll even find the recoil a tad more pleasant than with 140's.

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

I would start off with the Remmy 120's

Ok, Ill stick with the 120s and see how they do. I sighted the gun in and they seem to shoot pretty well.
