Handgun hunting for me can be traced directly to this magazine. Around the same time I had a S&W29 topped with a 2x leupy and loved it, wore it out as well :p I also, years later, discovered this magazine and by this time I was fully hooked lol. So few books out there on handgun hunting, I've been looking for a few I still don't have.

I thought I would see what others have read and what good ones are still revelent in todays hobby. I still haven't read Keith's Sixguns but oneday I'll have it.

Books I can remember off the top of my head...

Handgun Hunting, Mark Hamilton
3x Handgun Hunter Mags (Thanks Dan

)

Ya know my memory all of a sudden bites :p please add the ones I'm forgetting :p

Books, yeah I like books. LOL

Mark Hampton's book is great. Pioneering Handgun Hunting by Al George is a great one, good luck finding a copy. They are rare and command a decent price when one surfaces.

JD Jones and Larry Kelly have a good one, it's out of print. I got mine from e-bay.

Rees has one;

This book is a little on the reloading/shooting side but Ron does tell about some of his hunts;

Gary Reader has a book also; Handgun Hunting and Hunting Handguns

I'm sure I have a few others tucked away I can't think of right now. I need a big library!!

I have a copy of that one around here some where.........or I did. I haven't seen it in a while, I hope I didn't throw it out with some old magazines

Also have the one Tigger post by Kelly & Jones

I lived in Thermoplis WY for 4 years and I always wanted to get Milek to sign this one. But when I saw him here and there I never had the book along with. Too late now

Vance, I really liked it, but if you didn't like Lynn Thompsons handgun video, you may not like Reeders book. At times it's shoot'em-up-fast-paced wack'em and stack'em.

This is my humble collection:

I included the book on deer guns just because it depicted a handgun up front. Its coverage of handguns is otherwise limited.

What I desperately lack is a copy of Al Goerg's pioneering book on handgun hunting from the mid-60s. But at $200 a copy or more it is a tough one...

Tig,

yes is is the Nonte/Jurras book, soft cover 4th printing from 1981. Still a good one though, although I'm a bit hesitant when it comes to their armadillo dishes
