I finally broke down and ordered my custom shop Encore and a barrel from MGM in .460 SW, in 2 weeks im going to give the checkbook another hit when I order my Leupold variable. Hopefully in 8 weeks when MGM gets the barrel out I will have the trigger job completed, scope ready to mount and can start putting some rounds through her.

Yay cant wait!

always fun waiting for a new gun but then you always want another one.

Anticipation
One has to be patient when putting something special together. You are nearly always waiting on others to complete something. A custom bullet mould 6 Weeks. A custom revolver months.
I have been waiting on Midway to get a set of Hogue Tamer grips back in stock for a month. With a new revised In-Stock date of 6/28 I looked around and found them in stock at Mid South and ordered from them. Now maby today or tomorrow.
I bought a heavy duty lead melting burner without a hose and regulator. The gas company has regulators on order. I am waiting on them to start melting down three 5 gallon buckets of wheel weights for bullets.
Between funding a project a piece at a time, and waiting on others for specialty work one must be patient to be a handgun hunter. Being independntly wealthy would sure smooth out the bumps some though.

When you get your 460 together, I hope it is everything you envisioned it to be. Looks like you had a plan on exactly what you were building.

See You At The Range

Sounds great siyakadog. I just took delivery of a .460 S&W MGM barrel a couple of weeks ago. It is a full-bull, fluted barrel and it is 14.5" long with the Holland brake. I am currently waiting on a forend from GA Jim to complete the setup. I also need scope rings, a Stratton custom hanger bar, and a shellholder (my .45 LC shellholder wouldn't work with my Hornady .460 S&W brass).

Best of luck with your new setup!

I was inspired 20yrs ago when I was 14 a guy at the range had a contender he was practicing for deer hunting in MO. I have always loved pistol shooting, but didn't really get into deer hunting till the last 10 years, but with kids I never got enough cash for what I really wanted. We always party hunted with shotguns for deer. Then last year I guided my girlfriend on a muzzleloader hunt. Had a blast sitting in the stand vs party hunting. So I decided to go deer hunting with handgun for this year. Plus I won a gun at a banquet, I knew when I won I didn't want it so I sold it the next day and have been holding a envelope with cash marked "Encore don't open" for months now!!!

So yea I knew exactly what I wanted!!!

New custom grips will be next! I just ordered the walnut grips for now, cuz I hate synthetic. Every paycheck I get something else, I should have my paychecks garnished for gun accessories!!!!
